Five Gaels headed to Canada Summer Games
KINGSTON, Ont. - Five Queen's women's volleyball players have
been selected to represent Ontario at the Canada Summer Games held
in Prince Edward Island this August.
Four Queen's student-athletes will make up almost a third of the
15-person indoor volleyball team.
Selected to the indoor roster were Lorna Button of Newcastle, Ont.,
Kristine Collins, of Whitby, Ont. Natalie Gray of Oshawa, Ont., and
Katie Matthews of Aurora, Ont. Additionally Becky Billings of
Ottawa was chosen as an alternate in beach volleyball.
"This is an exciting time for our program," said Queen's head coach
Joely Christian. "They will gain so much through the experience and
exposure. It will surely translate into success for our team in
years to come."
