CIS athletes of the week (#23): Track & field stars Machin, Huet honoured OTTAWA (CIS) – Track and field standouts Rachel Machin from the University of Calgary and Olivier Huet from Université de Sherbrooke are the CIS female and male athletes of the week for the period ending March 10, 2013.
DAY 3 (of 3): Dinos and Gryphons win CIS women’s and men’s championships EDMONTON (CIS) – EDMONTON (CIS) – The University of Guelph Gryphons have won their third CIS men’s track and field championship in six years, following a first place finish at the 2013 meet in Edmonton, while the University of Calgary Dinos claimed their second women’s title since 2007 thanks to a 115-point first place performance on Saturday in the University of Alberta’s Pavilion.
DAY 2 (of 3): Lancers, Dinos remain atop team standings EDMONTON (CIS) – Rachel Machin picked up two more medals, including her first gold, as she and her Calgary Dinos teammates continue to lead the women’s standings after the second day of competition at the 2013 CIS track and field championships. On the men’s side, while the Guelph Gryphons picked up 61 points on Friday, it was only good enough for second place in the standings behind the Windsor Lancers (65), who saw their advantage shrink from 19 points to four on Day 2.
