Canadian U20 team led by two Lethbridge 'Horns in win over Caribbean Selects
LETHBRIDGE, AB – After helping the Pronghorn women’s rugby team to its third consecutive CIS title, Kelsey Willoughby and Laura Murphy-Burke are now making a name for themselves on the international stage with the Canadian Under 20 women’s rugby team.
Canada's U20 women's team opened the 2010 North American Caribbean Rugby Association regional tournament with a seven try 43-0 victory over a Caribbean Select side.
The reigning Canada West rookie of the year, Willoughby led
the way for the Canadian side with two tries. Meanwhile
Murphy-Burke connected on three converts, in addition to a try of
her own.
Canada’s next game will take place at 5pm EDT against
the Cayman Islands on Tuesday, August 17th.
The Horns begin defense of the conference and national titles,
September 24th in Victoria versus the Victoria Vikes. Fall training
camp opens on September 1.
University of Lethbridge will also play host to the Canada
West Championships October 22 -24.
