X-Women blank Huskies
ANTIGONISH, N.S. - The X-Women rugby team chalked up another W
in the win column Wednesday evening with a 32-0 shut out over the
Saint Mary’s Huskies in Halifax.
The X-Women improve to 5-0 on the season and currently sit atop the
AUS conference with 10 points, outscoring their opponents by a
286-19 margin over the past five games.
Six different X-Women hit the score sheet on Wednesday night, as
Mary Giles, Asya Bartley, Jessica Jacobs, Ghislaine Landry, Jill
MacLaren and Lisa Gauthier all scored tries. Courtnay Malcolm made
good on one convert to round out the scoring.
The X-Women are taking a break form AUS competition and will travel
south of the border for exhibition games against Brown University
and Beantown senior women on Friday and Saturday. They resume AUS
play on Sunday, Oct. 18 when they will host the UPEI Panthers at
2:00 pm at StFX Oland Stadium.
