WATERLOO, Ont. - The Guelph Gryphons continued their four game slump as the Laurier Golden Hawks defeated them 4-1. The Hawks and Gryphons special teams were not clicking on the night. Guelph went 0-for-2 while the Hawks went 0-for-6. Both teams surrendered a shorthanded tally.

The Hawks improve to 15-1 while the Gryphons drop to 9-4-2 and are 0-2-2 in their last four games.

Laurier's Laura Brooker (Fergus, Ont.) scored her twelfth goal of the season shorthanded. With an assist on the play, Katherine Shirriff (Carrying Place, Ont.) extended her point streak to seven games.

In the second, Blair Connelly (Amherstburg, Ont.) recorded her first of the season. Erin Weber (North Bay, Ont.) added another marker for a three goal lead going into the third period.

The Gryphons Erin Small (Pickering, Ont.) scored a shorthanded marker to bring the deficit to two. However, it was too little too late as Brittany Crago (Stouffville, Ont.) added a empty netter with just under a minute left to put the game out of reach.

The Hawks Lix Know (Stouffville, Ont.) turned aside 17 of 18 shots for her ninth win in a row and Brooke Siddall (Windsor, Ont.) made 19 saves on 22 shots in the loss.
