Exhibition: Gee-Gees score historic win over NCAA
OTTAWA - Gee-Gees women's basketball recorded its first-ever
home win over NCAA Division-I pre-season competition Thursday night
at Ashbury College after fifth-year guard Allison Forbes scored 20
points and third-year post Hannah Sunley-Paisley added 18 in a
66-57 win over Division-I Fairleigh Dickinson.
"There is some potential with this group," said Gee-Gees
second-year head coach Andy Sparks, the reigning OUA East coach of
the year. "It was a solid, positive start."
Twelve players saw the floor for the Gee-Gees in uOttawa's first
sanctioned game of the 2009-2010 season, and eight players
scored.
The Gee-Gees host NCAA Division-I Vermont at Ashbury College
Friday, August 28, 1:00 p.m.
