Lady Hawks to play NCAA's Vermont Catamounts

WATERLOO, Ont. - Wilfrid Laurier's women's basketball team will be hosting the University of Vermont Catamounts on Sat., Aug. 29 at 1 p.m. for a pre-season match-up. The NCAA Division I school will only be bringing their senior players due to league restrictions.

The Catamounts finished their season with a 21-12 overall record. In the playoffs, Vermont advanced to the conference finals and defeated Boston University 74-66. In the first round of the NCAA tournament, the Catamounts were defeated by the eventual U.S. national champion University of Connecticut.

Laurier finished fourth in league play last season with a 11-11 record. They hosted and won their first round playoff game against Lakehead before bowing out to Windsor in the OUA West semifinal.

Tickets for the game will be available at the door ($6 for adults; $4 for students/seniors with valid ID; children under 12 free).
