Queen's Hulse seventh at Western Invitational
LONDON, Ont. (September 26, 2009) – Matt Hulse of
Kingston, Ont., placed seventh in the Western Invitational on
Saturday morning finishing the 10-kilometre run in 32 minutes and
29 seconds. His finish helped the Gaels to a fifth place finish in
the men’s standings.
Windsor Lancers runner Dave Weston of Windsor, Ont., captured the
men’s race with a time of 32:10. Clay Patterson of Elgin,
Ont., was the only other Gael to record a top-15 finish in the
men’s race, placing 15th with a time of 33:03.
In the women’s 5km race, the Queen’s Gaels ran to a
fourth place finish. Queen’s Patricia Roney led the way
placing 19th in a time of 18:52. Maggie Hutton of Whitby, Ont. was
24th crossing the line at 19:04.
Overall the Guelph Gryphons captured top position courtesy of
Lindsay Carson’s first place finish which saw her set a
course record in a time of 17:01. McMaster finished second, while
Western was third.
