McMaster players earn Canadian national team tryouts
HAMILTON, Ont. - Two McMaster University men's volleyball
student-athletes have earned tryouts to the Canadian national
teams.
Nathan Groenveld (Welland, ON) has been invited to the Senior Men's
National team tryouts April 30 - May 3, 2009 in Gatineau, QC.
The Canadian National team will train over the summer at the Team
Canada volleyball centre's in Winnipeg, MN and Gatineau, QC in
preparation for the World Championship Qualifying Tournament in
Cuba August 7-12, 2009.
Groenveld is a two-time Ontario University Athletics (OUA) All-Star
and first team Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS)
All-Canadian.
Josh Lichty (St. Catharine's, ON) received an invitation to try-out
for the Team Canada Junior Men's National team.
The tryout will take place June 15-18, 2009 in Winnipeg, MN.
The Canadian Junior National team will compete for the Junior World
Championships July 31 to August 9, 2009 in Pune, India.
Lichty was a member of the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS)
All-Rookie team in 2007/2008.
