Exhibition: Six unanswered goals lift Victoria Vikes to third straight pre-season victory

VICTORIA - The University of Victoria Vikes men's soccer team remained unbeaten in pre-season play with a 7-2 win over Bays United on Thursday night at UVic.
 
Vikes fifth-year striker Peter Richmond opened the scoring for the Vikes before Bays struck twice quickly to take a brief 2-1 lead. But UVic's Dave Adams and fullback James Rhodes tallied once each to give UVic a 3-2 cushion the halftime break.
 
In the second half, UVic scored four times to cap their 6-0 run, with goals from Gavin Barrett, freshman Kurt MacAulay, Craig Taylor and Bobby Eng.
 
UVic returns to action Sunday night when they host Gordon Head at Centennial Stadium at 6 p.m. The Vikes women host the Vancouver Island University Mariners on Sunday at Centennial Stadium at 12 p.m.
