seventh time in as many national media polls this season.
The Canada West-leading Bears (11-2-1) received eight of the 18
available first-place votes and 169 points from the media panel
following a tough two-game set against the No. 8-ranked Manitoba

last Friday but rebounded with a 3-2 win on Saturday.
The McGill Redmen (14-0-1) earned the remaining 10 first-place nods
and 155 points in the new poll to climb back to No. 2 ahead of the
New Brunswick Varsity Reds (10-4-0), who drop back to No. 3 after
receiving 139 points.
The OUA-leading Redmen edged Guelph (8-5-2) 5-4 in overtime in
their lone outing of the past weekend, while the AUS-leading V-Reds
returned empty-handed from a two-game trip to Nova Scotia,
suffering a 3-2 loss to Acadia (7-5-2) and a 6-3 defeat at the
hands of Dalhousie (8-6-0).
Rounding out this week’s Top 10 are the Western Ontario
Mustangs (12-0-3), who stay put at No. 4; the reigning University
Cup champion Saint Mary’s Huskies (8-4-1), up two positions
to No. 5; the No. 6 Saskatchewan Huskies (8-6-0), who also stay

The upcoming weekend will mark the end of conference play for the
fall semester in CIS men’s hockey. The regular season will
resume on January 6, 2011. One more Top 10 will be published next
Tuesday before the break.
Top-ranked Alberta already wrapped up the first half of its Canada
