Jonathan Laberge answered back for Acadia on the same power play to make it 1-1. The Huskies added another four minutes later to take a 2-1 lead into the first intermission.

The Axemen were able to cut the lead to one after the second intermission with goals from Laberge and Chris Bruton, their eighth of the season. With two minutes remaining in the third with the game at 6-5, Cam Fergus scored his second of the game to put the game out of reach for Acadia.

A late power play deemed unhelpful for the Axemen, seeing Fergus score his hat-trick goal into an empty Acadia net.
