Bellows scores two for Golden Hawks in win over Lions
WATERLOO, Ont. - Ryan Bellows (St. Catharines,
Ont.) extended his goal-scoring streak to five games after notching
two against the York Lions in Wilfrid Laurier's 8-3 win on Thursday
night at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex.
The second year Golden Hawk extended his point streak to nine games
and is now in third place on the team with 21 points.
The game was an offensive affair, with a total of 80 shots fired
between the two teams. Laurier's netminder Ryan
Daniels (Pickering, Ont.) saw 37 while the tandem of
David Davenport and David Blair
faced 43.
Laurier's point leader, Paul Bradley (Calgary)
also had an outstanding night, scoring one goal and picking up
three assists. Bradley now leads the OUA in points with 29. Both
Craig Voakes (St. Thomas, Ont.) and Ryan
Bernardi (Etobicoke, Ont.) notched three assists in the
game.
For the Lions, Nathan Brooks opened the scoring,
but the visitors couldn't overcome Laurier's scoring touch.
Matthew Bahen and Cassidy Preston
were the other goal scorers for York.
Jeff Borrows (London, Ont.), Mike
Galbraith (Oakville, Ont.), Colin
Williams (Orangeville, Ont.), Jordan
Bonneville (St. Agatha, Ont.) and Jean-Michel
Rizk (Dunham, Que.) rounded out the goal scoring for the
purple and gold.
Laurier is back in action on Friday, Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m. when they
take on the UOIT Ridgebacks in Oshawa, Ont.
