Ticket packages on sale September 14th for CIS FINAL 8 Championship, presented by Milk
OTTAWA - In conjunction with Canadian
Interuniversity Sport and Scotiabank Place, the host organizing
committee for the 2010 Canadian Interuniversity Sport men's
basketball championship - the Final 8, presented by Milk, today
announced that ticket packages go on sale Monday, Sept. 14, at
noon. Last spring, more than 73,000 fans witnessed CIS basketball
action when the top-seeded tournament host Carleton Ravens captured
their sixth W.P. McGee trophy in seven years with an 87-77 victory
over the No. 3 seed UBC Thunderbirds in the championship game.
Ticket packages will provide access to each of the tournament's 10
games, which commence with quarter-final games on Friday, March 19,
at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. With games scheduled for 6 p.m. and 8
p.m., the Friday evening session will feature the host and
defending champions Carleton University Ravens playing their first
game of the tournament in the nightcap.
Friday's games are single-elimination matchups, with the four
winners advancing to Saturday evening's semifinal session games at
6 p.m. and 8 p.m. The consolation semifinal session takes place
earlier on Saturday, with games at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
The lone Sunday session features the fifth-place game at 1:30 p.m.
and the championship game at 4 p.m. All five sessions (10 games in
total) will take place at Ottawa's Scotiabank Place.
Full tournament packages, which include a ticket to each of the
tournament's 10 games, will be available starting at $7.50 per
ticket per game.
