PROFILE
Luke Balch of the Waterloo Warriors returns for his fifth year of eligibility. A leader on and off the field, Balch can play both quarterback and slot for the Warriors and is a key component to the black and gold’s offence. Balch remained with the program after a self-imposed withdrawal from competition and a rebuilding of the team showing his commitment and dedication to the Warrior football program.
Balch has great versatility and football IQ that separates himself from many OUA players. He currently sits in the top 10 all-time in passing yards for the Warriors.
Balch spent the summer playing QB in Poland where he was a league leader statistically and brought his team to within one point of winning the league championship. Off the field Balch is a leader in the athletic community. Balch has developed a peer education program amongst varsity athletes at Waterloo, educating student-athletes about the importance of clean and fair play. The program also helps Waterloo student-athletes with any academic or nutritional problems they may encounter throughout their varsity careers.
Balch is eager and excited to kick-off the 2011 OUA football season and pave a bright future for the Warrior football program for years to come.
