No. 1 Laval, Levesque dominate Huskies 47-7

HALIFAX, N.S. - At Halifax, Nova Scotia, Sebastien Levesque rushed for two touchdowns and 99-yards as the Rouge et Or lived up to their billing as the #1 ranked team in the country. Levesque was named player of the game.
Laval consistently displayed a very stout rush defense, holding the Huskies to a mere 66-net yards rushing.
Laval starting QB Bruno Prud'homme was 13 of 19 for 190-yards and a touchdown before leaving the game with an upper body injury. The Rouge et Or outgained the Huskies 445-yards to 203 in total offense.
Saint Mary's starting quarterback Micah Brown was 8 for 24 for 163-yards and was sacked three times. Huskies receivers dropped no fewer than six catchable passes. Brown also rushed ten times for 77-yards.
Defensively, Laval was led by linebacker Frederic Plesius. He recorded 5 solo tackles, 3 assisted tackles and a quarterback sack. For the Huskies, Ryan King made 8 solo tackles, 4 assisted tackles and forced two fumbles.
Next Saturday, Saint Mary's will travel to Moncton to take on the Mount Allison Mounties (1-1), while the Rouge et Or will visit Sherbrooke (1-2), on Sunday.
