QSSF releases 2010 football schedule
Montreal – The Quebec Student Sport Federation (QSSF) is
pleased to release its preliminary schedule for the 2010 Quebec
University Football League (QUFL) season.
Beginning in 2010, the QUFL schedule will increase from eight (8)
to nine (9) games per team and will feature a modified interlocking
schedule with Atlantic University Sport (AUS).
Over the next three seasons (2010, 2011, 2012) QUFL teams will
partake in one of two scheduling options: Play a schedule featuring
eight (8) games within the Quebec conference and one (1) interlock
game against a team from the Maritimes, or a nine (9) game schedule
against Quebec based schools.
Each season, four of the six QUFL teams will play their ninth game
against AUS opponents, while the two remaining schools will play
all of their games within the conference. Over the three-year
cycle, each QUFL team will face each other five (5) times.
“The addition of a ninth game allows our student-athletes to
pass more time on the field and receive greater visibility,”
said QUFL commissioner Tom Allen. “With the continual
increase in popularity of university football, we believe that the
addition of a ninth game to the schedule will make fans very
happy.”
The complete schedule including dates, time and television coverage
by Radio-Canada will be announced in the coming weeks.
