CFL's Tiger-Cats add OUA talent

HAMILTON, Ont. - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL announced on Thursday that they have added a pair of standout OUA players, as the team has signed non-import offensive lineman Matt Morencie and non-import receiver Scott Valberg.

Morencie, a 6-foot-3, 290-pound native of Windsor, Ont. was awarded the J.P. Metras Trophy as the CIS lineman of the year last season and was also recognized as a CIS and OUA first-team all-star with the Windsor Lancers. Morencie will take part in this weekend's East-West Shrine Game in Orlando, Fla. 

Valberg, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound native of Kingston, Ont. helped lead the Queen's Gaels to their 2009 Vanier Cup championship after an impressive CIS career that saw him catch 164 passes for 2,917 yards and 21 touchdowns. Valberg was named a first-team CIS and OUA all-star in 2008 and 2009 after leading the CIS in receiving in each season.
