Canada West football: The playoff picture

The Canada West football semifinals take place on Saturday, Nov. 7, but who's in, who's out has yet to be determined

SASKATCHEWAN (6-1) - Finishes 1st with a win over Regina OR a Calgary loss vs. Alberta; finishes second with a loss to Regina AND a Calgary win over Alberta

CALGARY (6-1) - Finishes 1st with a win over Alberta AND a Saskatchewan loss to Regina; finishes second with a Saskatchewan win OR a loss to Alberta. The Dinos semifinal game will be seen live on SHAW TV.

Manitoba-Alberta-Regina

MANITOBA has clinched a playoff berth, because of the following:
MAN win - finishes 5-3, third place
- MAN loss, ALTA win, REG win - three-way tie at 4-4. All three teams are 1-1 between them, so it goes to points for-against in those games. Regina wins that 50-43 and would finish 3rd, with the next-highest place going to Manitoba because they defeated Alberta head-to-head
- MAN loss, ALTA win, REG loss - two-way tie at 4-4 with Alberta, both make playoffs
- MAN loss, ALTA loss, REG win - two-way tie at 4-4 with Regina, both make playoffs
- MAN loss, ALTA loss, REG loss - Manitoba finishes 4-4, third place alone

REGINA needs a win to make playoffs

ALBERTA needs either a win and a Manitoba win OR a Regina loss to make playoffs...the only way Alberta misses the playoffs is a three-way tie with Manitoba and Regina at 4-4
