LONDON, Ont. - Watch the top football players in Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) compete when Rogers TV, Cable 13 airs coverage of 2012 CIS East West Bowl on Saturday, May 12th LIVE at 1:00 PM. The event, hosted for the fourth year by Western University at TD Waterhouse Stadium in London, showcases CIS football athletes eligible for next year’s Canadian Football League draft.
The West team is well-represented with players from Western University: offensive lineman Eric Armitage, kicker Lirim Hajrullahu, defensive lineman Brent Wheeler, linebacker Pawel Kruba and defensive back’s Mike Spence and Jamie Symianick.
“We are thrilled that Rogers TV will televise the 2012 East West Bowl,” said Marg McGregor, Chief Executive Officer of CIS. “Over the past decade, the East West Bowl has become a major event for CIS football players and there is no doubt Rogers’ involvement will help promote the game and profile our talented student-athletes.

Leading the West team players from Canada West and seven OUA universities will be Stefan Ptaszek, head coach of the reigning Vanier Cup champion McMaster Marauders. Glen Constantin who guided the Laval Rouge et Or to five national championships in 11 seasons will head up the East team, comprised of student-athletes representing schools from the Atlantic and Quebec conferences, as well as from Queen’s, Ottawa and Toronto.
The East-West Bowl, organized with the help of the Canadian University Football Coaches Association (CUFCA) and in partnership with the CFL, brings together over 90 of the top CIS football players for a week of practices and evaluation, culminating with the annual all-star game.
