The Road to the CIS Championships
How Teams Qualify for the 2011 Women’s Volleyball
Championship
The 2011 Women’s Volleyball Championship will be hosted by the University of Laval in Quebec City. The championship is an eight-team single game elimination format, played over three days, March 4-6, 2011. The participating teams include a representative from each Regional Association: AUS, RSEQ, OUA and Canada West. Laval will receive a berth as the host team. The sixth and seventh teams are assigned berths from Canada West. The eighth team is an assigned berth from the RSEQ.
OUA
The top four teams from the East and West division will
make playoffs. The playoffs will consist of (2) quarterfinal single
elimination matches held on February 19, 2011. All matches will be
a best three of five sets.

The winner from each match will advance to the Final Four. The host will be the team with the best record at either the East or West division after the quarterfinals. The Final Four semi-finals will be held February 25, 2011.
East (1 vs. 4) winner vs. West (2 vs. 3) winner
East (2 vs. 3) winner vs. West (1 vs. 4) winner
The winner of each semi-final match will advance to the OUA
Championship on February 26, 2011. The losers will advance to the
Bronze medal game held on the same date. The winner of the OUA
Championship will advance to the CIS Championship.
AUS
The top 6 teams make playoffs with the top 2 teams receiving a bye
in the first round. The Quarterfinals will be held February 18,
2011. The semi-finals will be held February 19, 2011 followed by
the AUS Championship match held February 20, 2011. The winner will
advance to the CIS Championship.
RSEQ
The top three teams make playoffs, with the first place team
receiving a bye to the finals. The semi-final (best of three) will
be held on February 11 and 13, 2011. The winner will advance to the
final (best of three) against the first place team on February 18
and 25, 2011. The two finalists will advance to the CIS
Championship. If Laval is in the final then the bronze medalist
will also move on to the CIS Championship.
Canada West
The top 7 teams are ranked based on league play and advance to the
playoffs. The first place team receives a bye and hosts the final
four. The matches will consist of a best of three series between
the following teams:

The winner of each match will advance to the Final Four where a gold and bronze medal game will be played. The two finalists and the bronze medalist will advance to the CIS Championship.
