CIS women's basketball Final 8 ticket packages now on sale

CALGARY – With just over two months to go before tip-off, the University of Calgary and the Organizing Committee are pleased to announce that ticket packages are now on sale for the 2012 Canadian Interuniversity Sport Women’s Basketball Final 8, presented by Ranger Inspection.

The host Dinos will welcome seven of the other top teams in Canada to the three-day event in the Jack Simpson Gym, beginning Saturday, March 17 and wrapping up with the national championship game Monday, March 19.

The weekend kicks off Friday, March 16 with the All-Canadian Awards Gala. The theme of the event is ‘Rolling Out the Red Carpet,’ and the University of Calgary is thrilled to be welcoming the nation’s best as they compete for the coveted Bronze Baby trophy.

“We’re very excited to host this tournament in the Jack Simpson Gym for the first time since 1994,” said Claire Mitton, assistant coach of the Dinos women’s basketball team and co-chair of the organizing committee. “We want to make this a unique and memorable experience for the student-athletes and fans attending, and we have some exciting things planned as we roll out the red carpet to welcome our guests!”

Tickets for the championship are on sale now, with early bird pricing in effect until Jan. 31. Tickets can be purchased at any Dinos basketball home game for the remainder of the season, and online at www.goDINOS.com/ticketweb.
