Hulse also has a volunteer placement working with a girl with cerebral palsy, helping her with exercises and stretches. While on student exchange at the University of Western Australia in the winter of 2009, Hulse became involved in the Trinity College residence community service and environment committee.

The female community service award goes to Sarah Boyle (Scarborough, Ont.) of the Toronto Varsity Blues. Boyle has received numerous awards for academics in leadership, including most recently the Dr. Clara Benson Award for outstanding athletic achievement scholarship and community service, the Deus Benedicat/God Bless for athletic and academic achievement and The Sharon Munn Anderson Award for athletic and academic achievements. Boyle volunteers at the Faculty of Physical Health and Education as a PAC 100 substitute teacher as well as an undergraduate representative on the Dean search committee. As Health Don at Woodsworth College, Boyle promotes healthy behaviour within the residence community and disseminates public health information. Both of his Lancers teams won their respective OUA championships at the meet. Fairall has been a multiple recipient of both awards.
