The Road to the CIS Championships
How Teams Qualify for the 2011 Men's Volleyball
Championship
The Men's Volleyball Championship will be hosted by Trinity Western University in Langley, British Columbia. The championship is an eight-team single game elimination format, played over three days, March 4-6, 2011. The participating teams include a representative from each Regional Association: AUS, RSEQ, OUA and Canada West. The Trinity Western Spartans receive a berth as the host team. The sixth and seventh teams are assigned berths from Canada West. The eighth team is an assigned berth from RSEQ.
OUA
The top seven teams will make playoffs. The first place team
receives a bye and will host the Final Four Championship. The
quarterfinals are a single best of 5 match held February 19, 2011
and will consist of the following games:

The semi-finals will be a single best of 5 match played at the site of the Final Four host on February 25, 2011. The winner of the semi-final matches will meet for the OUA Championship on February 26, 2011. The winner of the OUA Championship advances to the CIS Championship.
AUS
The top 2 teams make playoffs (best of three) held from February
18-26, 2011. The winner advances to the CIS Championship.
RSEQ
The top three teams make playoffs, with the first place team
receiving a bye to the finals. The semi-final (best of three) will
be held from February 11-13, 2011. The winner will advance to the
final (best of three) against the first place team from February
18-25, 2011. The two finalists will advance to the CIS
Championship.
Canada West
The top 7 teams are ranked based on league play and advance to the
playoffs. The first place team receives a bye and hosts the Final
Four. The matches consist of a best of three series between the
following teams:

The winner of each match will advance to the Final Four where a gold and bronze medal game will be played. The two finalists and the bronze medal match winner will advance to the CIS Championship. In the event that TWU finishes in the top three of the Canada West Championship, the top four finalists will advance to the CIS Championship.
