Doubleheader session tickets on sale NOW, for CIS Final 8 men’s basketball championship

OTTAWA – In conjunction with Canadian Interuniversity Sport and Scotiabank Place, the host organizing committee for the 2010 Canadian Interuniversity Sport men’s basketball championship – the Final 8, presented by Milk, announced that doubleheader session tickets are on sale now. Last spring, more than 73,000 fans witnessed CIS basketball action when the top-seeded tournament host Carleton Ravens captured their sixth W.P. McGee trophy in seven years with an 87-77 victory over the No. 3 seed UBC Thunderbirds in the championship game.

Doubleheader session tickets will be available for all five of the tournament’s sessions, which commence with quarter-final games on Friday, March 19, at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. With games scheduled for 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., the Friday evening session will feature the host and defending champions Carleton University Ravens playing their first game of the tournament in the nightcap.

Friday’s games are single-elimination matchups, with the four winners advancing to Saturday evening’s semifinal session games at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. The consolation semifinal session takes place earlier on Saturday, with games at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

The lone Sunday session features revised start times for the fifth-place game at 4 p.m. and the championship game at 6:30 p.m. All five sessions (10 games in total) will take place at Ottawa’s Scotiabank Place.

Doubleheader session tickets, which include entry to two games, will be available starting at $20 per doubleheader session. Full tournament packages, which include a ticket to each of the tournament’s 10 games, are currently on sale.
