EDMONTON - The Western Mustang men's
curling team of had a successful second day on the ice at
Edmonton's Saville Sports Centre at the 2010 CIS/CCA curling
championships.

The team of
Evan Lilly (Sudbury, Ont.),
Micky
Lizmore (London,Ont.),
Joey-Dean Lanthier (Lively,
Ont.) and
Chris Liscumb (Ilderton, Ont.) came out
storming in their morning matchup against Saint Mary's, using
scores of three in the first and sixth ends and four in the fourth
to power themselves to an 11-3 win.
Their afternoon game against an accomplished University of Prince
Edward Island foursome proved to be more of a challenge.
A well curled, back and forth affair was not decided until Mustangs
skip Evan Lilly's extra end, in-turn tap back on the four foot
which proved to be the winning shot in Western's 7-6
victory.
On Friday March 12, the Mustangs face off against Queen's and
Alberta before finishing round-robin play on Saturday March 13
against the University of Victoria.
In women's action, Western lost two last-rock heartbreakers to drop
to 0-3 at the championships, losing 7-6 to the Regina Cougars
before losing 8-7 to Brock.
The Mustangs women conclude round-robin play with games against
Calgary and Manitoba.
