Colby Pridham
Pridham, a fourth-year arts student from Alberton, P.E.I., had a
hand in seven of his team’s eight goals last weekend as the
nationally eighth-ranked Huskies (15-7-2) climbed into a tie for
second place in the AUS standings thanks to a 3-2 overtime win
against St. Thomas and a 5-0 upset victory over No. 4 Moncton. On
Friday night, the 5-foot-11, 190-pound forward tied the game with
less than six minutes left in regulation and added an assist as
Saint Mary’s erased a two-goal deficit in the third period to
edge STU. The following night, he set a career-high with five
points, including a hat-trick, to help the Huskies catch the Aigles
Bleus in the standings. Pridham, who played for the Halifax
Mooseheads in the QMJHL, currently ranks seventh in Atlantic
conference scoring with 12-15-27 in 24 contests.
Charles Philibert-Thiboutot, a track and field athlete from Laval,
and basketball players Ben Johnson of Lakehead and Boris Bakovic of
Calgary were the other male nominees.
