CIS All-Canadians
All-Canadians
The selection committee for basketball, field hockey, women’s hockey, women’s rugby, soccer, and volleyball are composed of members of the CIS Coaches Associations.
The football selection committee is composed of members of the Canadian University Football Coaches’ Association (CUFCA).
The men’s hockey selection committee is composed of four members of the CIS Men’s Hockey Coaches Association. The selection of a First and Second All-Canadian Team was initiated in 2003-04.
The top seven individual finishers at the CIS cross-country championship make up the First All-Canadian Team. The Second All-Canadian Team is comprised of finishers 8 through 14.
The first place finishers of a final CIS swimming championship meet make the First All-Canadian Team and second place finishers make the Second All-Canadian Team. If an athlete finishes in first and second in two events they will only get named to the First All-Canadian Team.

Top Eight Academic All-Canadians
In 1988, CIS introduced its first Academic All-Canadians, those
exceptional student-athletes who achieve an academic standing of
80% or better while playing on one of their university's varsity
teams.
Among these outstanding individuals, one female and one male from
each CIS regional association are selected annually as Top 8
Academic All-Canadians.
